Slugs Get First Division III Win
ROCHESTER, NY -- UC Santa Cruz Men’s Volleyball team defeated SUNY New Paltz on Friday at the Nazareth University Invitational, winning in three games, 30-20, 30-28, 34-32. The Slugs improve their record to 6-2 overall and 1-0 at the Division III level.
Junior Outside Hitter Brad Sullivan and Junior Outside Hitter Justin Lam led the Slugs with 11 kills.
Game one the Slugs passed and attacked in system and where unstoppable. In game two the Slugs found themselves trying figure out New Paltz’s offense and barely eked by 30-28. The third game was a total dogfight with the Slugs able to close at the end 34-32 to win the match.
The Slugs play their next match Friday night against the host of the tournament Nazareth University. The match is set to start at 8:00 pm EST.
