Slugs Get Win Against Rival Carthage
ROCHESTER, NY -- UC Santa Cruz Men’s Volleyball team defeated Carthage University on Saturday afternoon at the Nazareth University Invitational, winning in four games, 28-30, 30-24, 30-24 and 30-21. The Slugs improve their record to 7-2 overall and 3-0 at the Division III level.
Junior Outside Hitter Brad Sullivan led the Slugs with 17 kills and 6 aces. Junior Outside Hitter Justin Lam fallowed up with 12 kills and 5 aces.
In game one both sides came out and put it all on the line. Carthage was down 26-27 and fought back to win 30-28. In games 2,3, and 4 Junior Outside Hitter Brad Sullivan took control and pushed the Slugs to win in four games.
The Slugs play their next match of the tournament Saturday against Vassar University. The match is set to start at 4:00 pm EST.
