Slugs Fall To Lindenwood In 4
RIVERSIDE, CA -- UC Santa Cruz Men’s Volleyball team was defeated by Lindenwood University on Saturday afternoon at the Van Dyne Gym, losing in four games, 24-30, 31-29, 28-30 and 29-31. The Slugs record drops to 9-5 overall and 3-1 at the Division III level.
Junior Outside Hitter Brad Sullivan led the Slugs with 19 kills. Junior Outside Hitter Justin Lam had 18 kills and Sophomore Middle Blocker Alex Schwartz contributed 11 kills.
In game one the Slugs were unable to stop Lindenwood’s fast paced attack. In game two the Slugs found themselves down 26-24 but where able to stop the bleeding and come back to win 31-29.
Game three was a battle to the end, but a combination of a very controversial call and a dig by Lindenwood put them over the top. In game four both teams played with poise and fire but Lidenwood was able to get the upper hand.
The Slugs play their next match against Cal Baptist University in Riverside, CA. The match is set to start at 7:00 pm.
