Slugs Battle Stiff Competition

STOCKTON, CA– UC Santa Cruz Men’s Volleyball team lost to The University of the Pacific on Friday afternoon at the Alex G Spanos Center, losing in three games, 23-30, 16-30, 22-30.

Senior Outside Hitter Brad Sullivan led UCSC with 10 kills and freshman Outside Hitter Salvatore La Cavera was next with 8 kills. Freshman Setter Mauro Salinas contributed 31 assists.

Despite showing great poise on defense the Slugs struggled against the Tigers opposite attack. Pacific’s Taylor Hughes a red shirt freshman had 12 kills hitting .706.

The Slugs play their next match Friday night in Stockton against Grand Canyon University. The match is set to start at 4:00 PM.
