Slugs Fight Division 1 Power House

Palo Alto, CA—UC Santa Cruz Men’s Volleyball team lost to Stanford University on Friday night at Maples Pavilion loosing in four games, 23-30, 31-29, 22-30, 18-30.

Senior Justin Lam led UCSC with 19 kills to drive the Slugs offence. Freshman Salvatore La Cavera was second in line for the Slugs with 16 kills. Eric Rowell contributed 48 assists for the Slugs.   

The Slugs out blocked the Cardinal 12.5 to 8.5. The Slugs fought hard but struggled with Stanford’s aggressive serve.

Stanford’s Garret Dobbs had an impressive game posting 20 kills. 

The Slugs play their next match Friday afternoon in the Golden Flyer tournament in Rochester New York against Stevens Institute. The match is set to start at 2:00 PM.
