Slugs Go 3-0 In Rochester

Rochester, NY—UC Santa Cruz Men’s Volleyball team defeated Rivier College on Saturday morning for their third victory of the Nazareth Invitational Tournament. The Slug’s won in three games, 30-26, 30-22, 30-22. This win takes the Slugs Division III record to 5-1, and overall record to 8-3.

Senior Justin Lam led the Slugs with 12 kills and had an impressive hitting percentage of .550. Freshman Salvatore La Cavera fallowed with 11 kills and had a hitting percentage of .714. Junior Austin Einhorn added 10 kills to the victory. Senior Setter Eric Rowell contributed 41 assists.

It was early and cold but the Slugs fired up and could not be stopped. In the three game match the Slugs had 11 blocks and 28 digs.

The Slug’s play their last match of the Nazareth Tournament on Saturday afternoon against SUNY New Paltz. The match is set to start at 4:00 pm.
