Slugs Stay In Control

Santa Cruz, CA—UC Santa Cruz Men’s Volleyball team defeated Holy Names University on Friday night at the West Field House, winning in three games, 30-17, 30-20, 30-23.

Senior Justin Lam led the slugs with 13 kills. Junior Austin Einhorn and Sophomore Austin Kress contributed 9 kills to the victory.

The Slugs were in control of every point. Senior Setter Eric Rowell fired up the Slugs for game one, and Freshman Setter Mauro Salinas took the reins and led the team to victory. Freshman Alex Maruka saw some court time and contributed 4 kills and one ace to the battle.

The Slugs play their next match Saturday afternoon in Riverside against Philadelphia Biblical. The match is set to start at 1:00 pm.
