Slugs Defeat #8 Philadelphia Biblical University

RIVERSIDE, CA—UC Santa Cruz Men’s Volleyball team defeated #8 Philadelphia Biblical on Saturday afternoon at Cal Baptist University, winning in four games, 30-26, 31-29, 28-30, 30-23.

Senior Eric Rowell set a well balance offence with 5 hitters in double digit kills. Senior Justin Lam led the Slugs with 18 kills. Senior Brad Sullivan and freshman were second with 14 kills. Juniors Austin Einhorn and Rick Schroeder rounded out the victory with 13 kills.

The Slugs and PBU battled back and forth for the first three games. The Slugs ended up out blocking PBU 4 to 0 to make the final push in the fourth game

The Slugs play their next match Saturday night in Riverside against Cal Baptist. The match is set to start at 4:00 PM.
