Slugs Topple NAIA Giant

SANTA CRUZ, CA—UC Santa Cruz Men’s Volleyball defeated NAIA #1 California Baptist University on Friday night at home, wining in five games, 24-30, 26-30, 34-32, 30-24, 15-11.

Senior Justin Lam led the Slugs with 15 kills. Senior Brad Sullivan was second in line with 14 kills and Junior Austin Einhorn contributed 11. Senior Eric Rowell had 46 assists in the battle.

 This was the third and final meeting. Both teams had won a close match. It was a slugging contest. The Slugs started out slow dropping the first two games. With the help of Senior Eric Rowell the Slugs regained their fire and pushed back until Cal Baptist finally broke.

The Slugs play their next match Saturday afternoon at home against Cal Berkley. The match is set to start at 3:00 PM.
