BEFORE UCSC: At DeAnza was an All-State and All-Leauge player (2004) and All-State player at San Jose City (2005)

PERSONAL: Nicole chose UCSC for the beautiful campus and area and the volleyball team. What she likes best about Santa Cruz is the beach and the community. Her hobbies are sewing, playing sports, painting, drawing, and hiking. Her favorite food is corn bread and she enjoys listening to alternative, rap, country, and Christian rock. Her favorite athlete is Kerri Walsh and favorite movie is Anchor Man. She was born and raised in San Jose, CA. Her parent's names are Jerry and Mona Payne and has six siblings, Heather, Myles, Melissa, Stephanie, and Gena. Is interested in working with children in the future in either social work or counceling. Also enjoys spending time with her niece Layla.
