Women's Volleyball Serves Up 2 Wins in a Row

The Slug women's volleyball team got their first two wins this past week. At home last Friday, UCSC swept visiting Whittier College in 3 games (30-12, 30-23, 31-29). Marisol Visalli led the way for the Slugs with 12 kills, hitting .375%. Senior Briana Williford added 10 of her own along with 2 blocks, while Jihan Spearman had 8. Jenna Koch has 37 assists on the night.

UCSC traveled to Oakland to play Mills College on Wednesday night, where the Slugs won in 3 games; 30-20, 30-17, 30-15. Senior Briana Williford had 11 kills and 5 blocks, Jenna Koch had 28 assists and 5 aces. Sophomore Carmen Aguilar-Wedge came in to serve up 4 aces, and Freshman Daniella Reagan added 5 kills and 4 blocks.

The Slugs look to carry their momentum into a tough weekend schedule. On Friday night, UCSC faces last year's Cal Pac Champions Menlo College at 7pm, and on Saturday night CSU East Bay also at 7 pm.
