August 30, 2008 Slugs Drop Their Season Opener To Puget Sound
FOREST GROVE - The No. 7 ranked Loggers opened the tournament with a three-set victory over the Banana Slugs. UPS dominated the first set, posting a .385 attack percentage before settling down to .184 in game two and .171 in game three. UC Santa Cruz kept things close in the second and third sets. Brynn Blickenstaff came off the bench to lead the Loggers with 10 kills. Kelsie Telge had 16 digs and Jamee Fred registered 25 assists. Katie English led UCSC with 13 kills. Melinda Tom had 17 digs and Amy Knight registered 23 assists.
