Women's Volleyball Win Season Opener Against CMS
THOUSAND OAKS , CA --UC Santa Cruz Women’s Volleyball team wins their opening match against CMS! The Slugs won in five sets 17-25, 24-26, 25-19, 25-14, 15-13.
Junior Outside Hitter Katherine Grow led the slugs with 18 kills followed by Junior Middle Blocker Helen Milne with 11 kills. Senior Setter Alyssa Trakes contributed 55 assists on the match!
The Slugs opened the Cal Lutheran tourney with a strong performance. Last year, the Slugs narrowly lost to opponents CMS. With strong blocking and serving performances, the UCSC team managed to control the tempo of the game allowing them to edge out their opponents in the fifth and deciding set.
