SELENE TEITELBAUM Head Coach - Women's Volleyball Phone: (831) 459-5982 Fax: (831) 459-4070 Email: womensvb@ucsc.edu Selene Teitelbaum is in her 4th season as the Head Women’s Volleyball coach at the University of California, Santa Cruz. In only three seasons, she has coached three First Team All-Americans and two NCAA Players of the Week. Last season, she led the Banana Slugs to their best season in over ten years and hopes to break into the NCAA Tournament in 2007. Coach Teitelbaum is also an alumni of UCSC where she played volleyball all four years receiving several awards and setting new school records while receiving a B.A. in Music. Before taking on the role of Head Coach at UCSC, Selene was the assistant coach for two years at NCAA Division II Bemidji State University in Northern Minnesota where she obtained her Masters of Science degree in Sports Studies while coaching and teaching physical education classes. Coach Teitelbaum is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) and a Certified Personal Trainer with the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Selene also has coaching experience with Main Beach Volleyball Club (18’s), Santa Cruz Volleyball Club (14’s), Bay To Bay Boys Volleyball Club (14’s), Bear Volleyball Club (14’s), Harbor High School Varsity and Scotts Valley Junior High. She also runs Nike Volleyball Camps at UCSC and coaches at Beach Volleyball Camps during the summer. When Selene is not coaching or training, she can usually be found on Main Beach playing volleyball and competing in AVP qualifiers and CBVA tournaments where she is a AAA ranked player. Lily was a four year starting setter for the banana slugs from 1999 – 2002, receiving awards for team MVP and first team all-league in 2002. Lily has previously coached as an assistant for both the UCSC Men’s Volleyball team and the girl’s varsity team at |
