Slugs Beat Chapman and take Ninth at WWPA Championships
SANTA CRUZ, CA -- The UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs ended their long win drought with a victory over Chapman University in the ninth place game of the Western Water Polo Association championship tournament. Behind a fantastic performance by Sophomore goalie Sam Blum and four goals from Junior Brian Fischl the Slugs pulled out to a 6-1 halftime drubbing and coasted through a bench clearing second half to secure their first win since September.
