April 25, 2008 Slugs Fall to CSU San Bernardino in Opening Game
Los Angeles, CA -- Cal State San Bernardino, the leagues top scoring team with 316 goals entering Friday, added to that total witha 12-7 win over UC Santa Cruz in game three of the 2008 WWPA Women's Water Polo Championship at Loyola Marymount Friday morning. The No. 7 seed Coyotes advance to face host and No. 2 seed LMU at 4:00 p.m.
The Coyotes had four goals from Freyja Berg and three more from Kaitlin Hartman to improve to 16-16 on the season and 5-8 in the WWPA. The No. 10 seed UCSC falls to 12-18 overall and 4-11 in the WWPA. They will play Cal State East Bay in game nine at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
CSUSB went up 3-1 after one and 7-3 at the break as UCSC would get no closer. Berg ran her season total to 105 on the season with her four-goal game.
