Ward Named WWPA Player of the Week

Junior Defender Nila Ward of UC Santa Cruz has been named the Western Water Polo Association Women’s Player of the Week for Feb. 25. Ward led the team in minutes played and was the primary center defender in all three games, helping UCSC go 2-1 on the weekend. She scored nine goals, had four assists, two field blocks, eleven steals and drew five ejections in wins over Azusa Pacific and Redlands.
