Head Coach - Women's Cross Country

This is Adam's sixth season as Head Coach of Women's
Cross Country at UCSC. He took over the position from former Head Coach
Rachel Cook midway through the '03 season. A San Jose native, Boothe graduated
from Pioneer High in 1997. While at Pioneer, Boothe was a CCS Div IV Champion
and two-time Cross Country State Championship qualifier. From there, he
went on to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he ran cross country and track
for five years. Boothe was back-to-back Big West Champion
Big West Champion and Athlete of the Year and Athlete of the
Year in Cross Country, and in 1999 qualified for the NCAA Division I Cross
Country Championships.
Since taking over at UCSC, Boothe has coached four All-West Region runners,
including 2006 Top 10 Finisher and Nationals Qualifier Tamara Torlakson.
Boothe graduated from Cal Poly SLO in 2002 with a degree in Political
Science and moved to Santa Cruz to pursue a career in coaching. Adam also
owns a running specialty store, Central Coast Running, in Santa Cruz.
It is fast becoming the headquarters for running on the Central Coast.
JAMEY
HARRIS
Assistant Coach - Women's Cross Country
Jamey Harris comes to UC Santa Cruz with an experienced
and decorated running career to offer. Harris was a High School State
Cross Country Champion in Eugene, Oregon, than became a 2-time NCAA Division
I All-American while at Fresno State. After college Harris went on the
break four minutes for the mile and was the 1998 USA National 1500m Champion.
He raced professionally in Europe for several years, including a 4th place
finish at the 1998 Goodwill Games. His lifetime bests include 3:54 for
the mile.
Jamey was an Assistant Coach at Fresno State and Auburn before coming
to UC Santa Cruz. He also served as Director of Olympic Development for
the Aggie Running Club from 1995-2002. Harris is a Fresno State alum and
recently received his masters in exercise physiology from Auburn University.
He lives in Aptos and with his two boys, Isaiah and Kaden.
