Nine home games highlight as women’s soccer announce 2019 schedule

Seven Division III games and nine home games highlight the 2019 UC Santa Cruz women's soccer schedule released on Monday.

After a preseason game at Academy of Art, the Banana Slugs open the regular season with a trip to Southern California to face Pomona Pitzer and La Verne. UCSC's home opener comes the next week when they host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps September 8.

UCSC finish their opening run of five Division III matchups with another weekend trip to take on Whittier and Caltech. 

"We are looking forward to kicking off the season against strong Division III opponents," said head coach Lauren Nadler.

After a pair of home games against NAIA opponents Simpson and Menlo, UCSC heads into the meat of their schedule with four games against Division II schools in the next seven contests, highlighted by home contests against Holy Names and Cal State Dominguez Hills.

After a visit to Stanislaus State on October 24, UCSC finish the season with three straight home games. First-time opponent St. Katherine comes to town Saturday October 26. UC Merced visit October 29 for the annual Cancer Awareness game and UC Santa Cruz host Sierra Nevada for Senior Day for the second straight year on November 2.
