Matthew graduated from C.K. McLatchy high school in 2012.  While is high school he was awarded AP scholar with Distinction and National Merit Scholar.  For Soccer, he was MVP (2012), Captin (2012), and received the Lion Award (2011).

Matthew is the son of Craige and Aimee Rutledge.  He has one sibiling, Jeffery.  During his free time he enjoys reading, surfing, and music.
