On September 15th and 16th the Lady Slugs were in Lake City, Minnesota for the Division III Classic, hosted by Carleton College. The DIII Classic is one of the largest and most competitive tournaments of their season, this year with a field of 17 teams totaling 96 girls in the event. The tournament was played at the Jewel, one of the top golf courses in the state. A completely different course than in Texas, the golfers had to quickly adjust to faster greens, cold weather, and strong winds. On the first day of competition, the team finished in a spot for medal contention, led by Alice Trisi's low score of 78. The second day of the tournament played difficult, but the Slugs were able to pull off a commendable third place team finish, with Charlene Dahlstrom and Emily Stephens both finishing in the top ten as individuals. In first place was the University of St. Thomas while Carleton College placed second. Another great tournament for the Slugs, they look forward to their next tournament in October.
