Slugs Defeat Kenyon College

In the second match of the homestand, #21 UCSC defeated Kenyon College 5-4. The slugs took a 2-1 lead after doubles, with Alex Scotten/Laura Wade defeating Schlessman/Bond 8-3 at the top spot, and Sarah Malone/Courtney Lymburner defeating Polster/Becker by the same score at two doubles. The newly formed tandem of Becca Parker/Quyen Truong battled at three doubles and fell a couple points short, falling 8-9 to Winkler/Younger in a dramatic finish. Kenyon and UC Santa Cruz split the singles matches with Scotten clinching the match for the slugs at the #1 spot 6-3, 6-2 over Schlessman. At #5 singles, Sophie Lundeberg split sets 6-3, 3-6 before falling in a match tiebreak 10-5.
